It started with a bad candle.

We bought one that smelled like a car air freshener and burned out in a weekend. So we learned to pour our own, in a kitchen in Portland, in batches of forty. We are still doing it the same way.

Everything here is 100% soy wax with a cotton wick. No paraffin, no phthalates, no “fragrance” hiding a list of ingredients we can’t pronounce. We publish every note on every product page — which is an odd thing for a fragrance company to do, and means you can decide before you buy instead of guessing from a photograph.

The glass is 100% post-consumer recycled. Boxes are unbleached kraft with paper tape. Send an empty vessel back and we credit you toward a refill.

We are not trying to be the biggest candle company. We are trying to be the one you reorder.
